KC POZZY was raised in the beautiful continent of Africa, in Lagos. As a youngster, he faced many struggles and tribulations. He was abandoned at the age of 10, left to fend for himself and had to learn life through the streets of Lagos. Perseverance and passion for music enabled him to sing his way out of the slums into the United Kingdom where he was finally able to shine. Europe provided him with a diverse multicultural landscape, which fuelled his creative intrigue and love for the diversity of music. His travels outside Europe (in North and South America, and Asia) provided him with additional inspiration to influence his unique compilations.
Having seen and felt much by way of experience and music, after years of watching and learning, KC is now ready and excited to draw on his influences and creatively participate in the music scene on a worldwide stage. With the guidance of the likes of producers such as Rodney Rymez and Ayo Beatz, he is certainly heading in the right direction.
KC Pozzy lives through music…music is his passion and afro beats is his culture. If you happen to see him at his favourite cafe in South East London, he will most probably be jotting down the next line to his lyrics. KC says, “I just want to contribute to this great industry and art, as music makes up such a fundamental part of who I am”. The many years of exposure to worldwide cultures can be heard through his music. For example, the infusion of his Nigerian heritage sound (inspired by his musical hero Fela Kuti), European influence (from inspirations such as the R&B singer Seal and King of pop Michael Jackson), and American rap culture (learnt from icons such as Dr Dre and Puff Daddy) resonates within his compilations.
In 2016, KC Pozzy premiered on UK taste-maker music channel Link Up TV, and was signed by the biggest publishing company in the world Sony/ATV, who are also the publishing home to the likes of 50 Cent, Ed Sheeran, Jay Z and Tiwa Savage among other international stars. He also performed at the O2 with Shatta Walle, Tekno, R2B and Sarkodie. KC delivered two outstanding EP’s, “A New King Is Born” and “Who Gave You That”, eight music video’s that credible music industry professionals have agreed would compete with those of current forerunners, and was nominated for “Best Unsigned Act” (BEFFTA Awards) and “Most popular Music Video Europe “ (Nigerian Music Video Awards). So considering his musical journey only began in 2015, the evidence already proves the unstoppable, uncompromising force driving this natural talent is a force to be reckoned with… “A natural talent cannot be mistaken for a manufactured one”!
His diverse musical direction, impeccable work ethic and perseverance make him an artist to look out for in the near future. Time will undoubtedly have him warranted as a certified artist and performer within the scene. From his electrifying performances you will be captivated by nothing less than high energy, charisma and inconceivable entertainment, bringing a whole other level to the afro beat scene!
In the long term, he looks forward to collaborating and entering creative zones with like-minded and world-class artists, who share his passion and open mindedness. Furthermore, he hopes to drum up major support across platforms worldwide.
KC Pozzy is sure to leave a lasting impression as the new artist on the lips of many
