PHOTOS: Freeway, Celeb Pals and Justice League NYC Converge On The Capitol for "March 2 Justice" In D.C.

#BLACKLIVESMATTER #MARCH2JUSTICE #WHYWEMARCH Thousands Converge On The U.S. Capitol As Rapper FREEWAY, Celebrity Supporters, and Justice League NYC Say NO MORE Police Brutality VIP Attendees Included U.S. Congressman John Lewis, Danny Glover, Raheem DeVaughn, Jasiri X, Quadir Lateef, and Jussie Smollett It was a monumental day in the District as rapper FREEWAY, a bevy of celebrity supporters, the Justice League of New York, and nearly 2,000 supporters marched to the lawn of the U.S. Capitol to voice their outrage against the recent acts of police brutality across the country. On the cusp of the recent Freddie Gray incident in Baltimore and the Rekia Boyd decision, FREEWAY and a few, major celebrity guests, including legendary actor DANNY GLOVER, star of the hit TV show "Empire" JUSSIE SMOLLETT, rapper and activist JASIRI X, recording artist QUADIR LATEEF, DC R&B native RAHEEM DEVAUGHN showed up on April 21 to speak out, perform, and gather support for national change. The marchers, who were joined for the entire walk by Lateef, made a 250-mile trek from New York to D.C., with stops for rallies along the way. At the culminating West Lawn rally, U.S. CONGRESSMAN JOHN LEWIS made a historic appearance to show support from within the legislature for underscoring that 'Black Lives Matter'. About the experience, FREEWAY said, "Every little bit counts when it comes to making a difference. This was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career thus far. Black lives do matter, and I'm glad I got to bring that message on a historic day."
