Ab-Soul talks with Stashed about These Days and more …
By Nate Santos There may have been a few bumps in the road to the release of Ab-Soul‘s These Days… album, but its recent arrival has been met with more than enough fanfare to make it worth the wait. During his NYC press run to promote the album, Ab-Soul dropped by the STASHED House to give us the low down on his latest LP, including some of the publicized in-house issues over at Top Dawg Ent., what delayed the project, and having to deal with fans hassling him at his every tweet. During the interview, the Black Lip Pastor explains how his approach to this new album differs from that of his previous effort, Control System. “In contrast to ‘Control System,’ this album isn’t as personal as ‘Control System.’ This album is more to capture the time ‘these days.’ There’s a lot of true stories on there about things that have been happening with me and the team these days, but more than that it’s about these days in general,” explains Soulo. The conversation also ventures into topics including the elusive Black Hippy album, and the now-derailed collaborative project with JMSN, Unit 6.
